Battery Storage and Electric-Fleet Systems

Helped take control and telemetry systems from early discovery and prototyping into production across approximately 20 UK sites.

  • Integrated IT/OT networks, custom edge devices, AWS services, telemetry, and industrial control systems.
  • Supported an estate of 800+ vehicle devices within 900+ concurrent VPN endpoints, maintaining greater than 99% availability.
  • Commissioned early battery-storage and bus-charging sites, then supported production operation, fault diagnosis, and handover.

Operations and automation

Infrastructure and Operational Tooling

Built practical tooling to make distributed systems easier to deploy, observe, administer, and transfer to other teams.

  • Automated configuration, deployment, and monitoring with Ansible, Python, Node.js, Bash, Docker, Debian packages, and Zabbix.
  • Developed MikroTik configuration management, API integrations, and a browser-accessible remote administration workspace.
  • Produced documentation and supported knowledge transfer, source-code handover, and commissioning by internal and external teams.

Edge, hardware and art

ZajGate LED Installation

Redesigned a festival bridge installation using addressable LEDs, ESP32 controllers, custom PCBs, and purpose-built management software.

  • Installed 15 metres of individually controlled LEDs on each of four gates.
  • Separated LED segments to make effects easier to configure and operate reliably.
  • Built WLED Manager to configure segment boundaries and schedule the controllers.
